Getting Started with Payments

Before you can receive payments for your services on Nexook, you need to set up your payment collection settings. This guide will walk you through the process step by step.

Connect Your Bank Account

  1. Navigate to Earnings

    • Log in to your Nexook expert account

    • Click "Earnings" in the main navigation menu

    • Click "Set up payout method"

    • Click on "+Add Payout method"

  2. Account details

    • Select your "Billing Country" from the dropdown. This should reflect where your bank account is located.

    • Under "How would you like to get paid?" select your preferred option and click "Continue".

    • Next you'll have to select your account type: "Personal" or "Business"

      • For a "Personal" account, you'll need to submit the account holder's:

        • First Name

        • Last Name

      • For a "Business" account, you'll need to submit:

        • Company Name

    • Enter your banking information:

      • Account holder name (exactly as it appears on your bank account)

      • Bank routing number (US) or equivalent

      • Account number

      • Bank account type (checking or savings)

    • Click "Continue" to complete the process

  3. Bank account information

    • Select whether this is a checking or a saving account

    • Add your bank information details and click "Save"

Setting Your Rates

  1. Access Rate Settings

    • From your expert dashboard, go to "Settings" > "Services"

    • Click "Edit" next to "Session Rates"

  2. Configure Your Pricing

    • Set your rate per session duration (30 min, 45 min, 60 min, etc.)

    • Determine whether to offer discounted rates for package bookings

    • Choose whether to offer a free introductory session

    • Click "Save" to update your rates

  3. Pricing Best Practices

    • Research market rates for your expertise and geographic region

    • Consider your experience level and credentials

    • Factor in the Nexook transaction fee (5% for Premium Plan, 10% for Basic Plan)

    • Periodically review and adjust your rates as needed

Understanding Transaction Fees

Nexook charges a transaction fee on all payments:

  • Premium Plan: 5% transaction fee

  • Basic Plan: 10% transaction fee

This means:

  • If you charge $100 on a Premium Plan, you'll receive $95

  • If you charge $100 on a Basic Plan, you'll receive $90

These fees cover payment processing, platform maintenance, and support services.

Setting Up Tax Information

Understanding Tax Responsibilities

  • Nexook is not responsible for withholding taxes on your behalf

  • You are responsible for reporting income and paying applicable taxes

  • Consult with a tax professional to understand your specific obligations

Getting Paid

After completing sessions:

  1. Funds are released to your Nexook balance after the session is completed

  2. Transaction fees are automatically deducted

  3. Your available balance can be withdrawn to your connected bank account

  4. Withdrawals are processed according to the schedule in Requesting Withdrawals

Payment Security

To maintain the security of your payment information:

  • Never share your banking details via email or messaging

  • Use a strong, unique password for your Nexook account

  • Report any suspicious activity immediately to support@nexook.com

If you encounter issues setting up your payment collection:

  • Ensure all banking information is entered correctly

  • Verify that your bank account is active and can receive deposits

  • Check that you've completed all verification steps
